After the success of the first Darwin High School Mooting Team in 2017, competition for a place on the 2018 team was stiff. The successful applicants, Braeden Parnell, Samuel Roussos and Diana Mukayeva are now busily preparing for this year’s competition.

International relations and politics were the driving force behind the UNYouthNT Territory Conference 2018. There was impressive representation from Darwin High School students who made up over a third of the total number of delegates.
This term Darwin High School Stage 1 Legal Studies students are participating in the Step Up, Be Heard program with Parliamentary Education Services. This is a hands-on, interactive experience in the learning of parliamentary processes and how laws are made.
On Thursday 8 March, the Year 12 Women’s Studies class held its annual International Women’s Day morning tea which was attended by parents, grandparents, teachers, friends, politicians and other supporters of the students in the class such as the DHS Board.
The Chief Minister has advised that all schools in the Darwin and Palmerston area will be closed tomorrow, Monday 19 March to ensure the safety of everyone in the community.
Darwin High School students Samuel Roussos and Mayatili Picton have been selected along with around 120 other Year 11 and 12 students from across Australia to travel to Canberra later this term.
This week Darwin High School welcomed a visit from the Hon. Michael Gunner MLA.
Darwin High School Year 11 student Phoebe Wear is a 2018 Finalists in the Charles Darwin University Arts Award, alongside 2017 graduate Stevie Jean Kyriacou.
On Saturday 3 March the 2017 Exit Art Exhibition opened at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.
Congratulations to Year 10 students Oriana Dupal, Penny Parry, and Leila Peel, who were awarded Best Scientific Communications Poster at the John Monash Science School Australian Science Fair!
