​On Friday 18 May Darwin High School held its second annual Health Expo event in the Tank.

​DHS’s Dance Department have been cultivating their community dance event, Dance Showcase, and this year it celebrated its 8th year in existence.

Last week Darwin High Centre for Excellence students took part in a catapult challenge. ​The students designed and built a catapult using mathematical concepts learnt in class and then tested their catapults to hit a designated target.

​Earlier this month the Darwin High School Mooting Team, comprising Samuel Roussos, Braeden Parnell and Diana Mukayeva, flew to the Gold Coast to compete in the Bond University National High School Mooting Competition. They were impressive in the delivery of their submissions and were awarded an Honourable Mention by the judges.

Australia has a long tradition of honouring and remembering its wartime history and the service of our men and women during those times.

​On Wednesday 16 May sixty-two Year 10 and SIEU students attended the TeamHEALTH Mind Blank wellbeing presentation in the Theatrette.

​Year 11 student Andre Price-Quintner will fly to Canberra to umpire the School Sport Australia U12 Boys AFL National Championships later this year.

​On Thursday 3 May forty-five Darwin High School music and drama students attended a performance of the award-winning Broadway phenomenon, American Idiot.

​On Thursday 10 May twenty-eight Darwin High School Year 10 students participated in the 2018 Australian Big Science Competition.

​Last week Drama Territory hosted a mini conference for NT teachers at DHS with guest presenter, Brad Haseman, from Brisbane. Brad is the author of DRAMAWISE which has been an invaluable resource for Drama teachers since 1987.
