Ms Pike's amazing Year 12 Stage 2 Food and Hospitality class made a contribution to community by creating meals to be served at the Sunset Soup Kitchen. The Sunset Soup Kitchen operates on the Esplanade on Sunday nights and students volunteered their time to help with serving the meals.
This week DHS drama students were fortunate to work with artists from Brisbane based physical theatre company ZEN ZEN ZO!
On Friday 28 of April, 26 lucky year 10 Darwin High students joined students from nine other Darwin region high schools to hear from the renowned scientific genius, Dr Karl.
On Thursday 11 of May, Ms. Snoxall's Geography class went on a fieldwork excursion to identify some of the sustainable factors that are found in Darwin City.
Year 10 classes have recently covered the key principle of gratitude. We had some wonderful gratitude trees and gardens created by Year 10 students and their SEL teachers. Thanks to Miss Polly and her Community Connection students for creating a wonderful tree for classes to add to.
Facing heavy offshore winds, the Stage 1 Integrated Learning classes of Mr Andreae and Mr Marshall participated in their first 2 weeks of a 5-week sailing program at the Darwin Sailing Club. Ms Knutsen's Year 10 Health and Physical Education are currently completing The Mental Fitness Challenge, an interactive program developed through the Black Dog Institute.
The Climate Change and Sustainability Committee have been hard at work implementing changes and organising events to raise awareness about climate change and environmentalism.
