Our Principal, Mr Joe Hewett is taking part in his first-ever St Vinnies CEO Sleepout on Thursday 19 June — and he’s swapping his desk for a sleeping bag at the historic Fannie Bay Gaol to raise awareness and vital funds for Australians experiencing homelessness.
Today, Darwin High School proudly participated in the International Trade Show, a key feature of the inaugural Darwin Fusion event — a two-day celebration of cultural connection and collaboration, hosted by the City of Darwin, City of Hobart, and Larrakia Nation.
As we reach the midpoint of Term 2, the year is moving quickly — especially for our Year 12 students, who are deep into final assessments and preparing for upcoming exams. This week, our Stage 2 Drama students visited the Costume and Props Department at the Darwin Theatre Company to source and trial costumes for their upcoming production of The Great American Scream. Set in small-town USA in 1938, the play blends comedy and drama to explore the influence of media on public perception and fear.

On Thursday 15 May, Darwin High School students had the exciting opportunity to attend The BiG Day In, hosted by the ACS Foundation at the Darwin Hilton. The event provided an invaluable chance for students to explore the diverse and rapidly evolving world of careers in Information Technology and STEM.
On Monday, 40 of our Year 10 and Year 11 Legal Studies students participated in the Democracy Dash, a dynamic civic education event held in Darwin’s CBD.
On Monday 28 April, Darwin High School proudly held its annual ANZAC Assembly in The Tank, providing a meaningful opportunity for our school community to come together in remembrance and reflection on the courage, values, and sacrifices of the ANZACs.

Yesterday, Darwin High School was delighted to welcome MLA Khoda Patel for the official delivery of brand-new chess equipment, generously funded through the Northern Territory Government’s Community Benefit Fund.
Congratulations to Year 10 students Oriana Dupal, Penny Parry, and Leila Peel, who were awarded Best Scientific Communications Poster at the John Monash Science School Australian Science Fair!
